Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Povnia collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account: your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and a provider account identifier instead of a password.
• Name: the display name on your profile, and the names you give to any family or friend profiles you add.
• Profile / birth data: the birth date, time (optional) and place you choose to enter — for yourself and for any additional profiles you create — used to personalize calculations.
• Location: the coordinates, city, timezone and hemisphere you set (via GPS or manually) so results are computed for your place.
• Preferences: language, time format, theme, selected categories and notification settings.
• Journal: your mood check-ins, notes, cycle intentions, garden records and activity entries, including any photos you attach to them.
• Purchases: your subscription status and purchase history, so premium features unlock on all your devices.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and error details, used to find and fix defects and to monitor the app's stability.
• Usage: which screens you open and how you interact with features, used to understand what is useful and what to improve.
• Support requests: if you contact us from inside the app, the message you write, an optional reply address, any files you attach, and basic technical context (app version, platform, OS version, device model, language, timezone).

How we use your information

• To compute moon phases, auspicious days and personalized guidance.
• To sign you in and keep your data in sync across your devices.
• To unlock and restore premium features you have purchased.
• To answer your support requests.
• To operate, maintain and improve the app, including fixing crashes and understanding which features are used.

Storage and security

• Astronomical calculations run entirely on your device.
• Account, profile and preference data are stored in our database. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text; data is transmitted over the network using standard encryption in transit.
• Your journal is encrypted on your device before it is saved. Syncing it to our servers is off by default and only happens if you turn it on; even then it is stored encrypted, and photos you attach stay on your device.
• We do not sell your data, do not share it with data brokers, and do not use third-party advertising networks. The app contains no advertising.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Service providers

We use a small number of processors to run the app. They receive only what is needed for their function, and are not permitted to use your data for their own advertising:

• Google Firebase — sign-in with Google and Apple, crash reporting and usage analytics.
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing. Payment details are entered in the store, not in the app, and we never see or store your card details.

Your choices

• Analytics and crash reporting: you can switch these off at any time in the app's privacy settings.
• Location: GPS is optional — you can set your place manually instead, or change it whenever you like.
• Notifications: you can disable them entirely, or choose which types you receive.
• Journal sync: off unless you explicitly enable it.
• Deletion: you can delete your account and all associated data from within the app.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account from within the app, or request deletion by email. Deleting your account removes your associated data (profile, preferences, locations, journal and subscription records). See Account & Data Deletion for details.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
